Women's Fund El Dorado presents 2012 Community Needs Forum

The Women's Fund El Dorado is extending an invitation to the public to attend their Community Needs Forum at 6 p.m. Jan. 19 at the Cameron Park CSD auditorium on.

The purpose of the forum is to update the community on the most current needs of local programs and projects, especially in the nonprofit arena, so the Women's Fund donors and the public at large can make knowledge, informed, educated gifts that effective positive change in El Dorado County.

Guest speaker is Bill Roby, executive director of the El Dorado Community Foundation.

Roby has been employed by the Foundation since June 2007, and has served as executive director for three years. He is most proud of the collaborative efforts that have begun between local government and nonprofits and will highlight those efforts in his presentation. He will inform the audience regarding inroads that have begun as well as offer future challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.

The presentation includes the subtitle “Seven Opportunities to Successfully Meeting Community Needs.”

“I believe everyone who attends will leave with a sense of pride in our accomplishments and also be armed with information that can lead them to their next step in planning and preparing for the future,” Roby said.

The Women's Fund El Dorado is a fund operating under the umbrella of the El Dorado Community Foundation, a California registered 501(c)(3). The Women's Fund has granted over $150,000 in its five years of existence and has built an endowment of more than $145,000 — a success that is unprecedented in a rural community.
